Gregory earned a medal while fighting in the Fenian Raids in Niagara, Ontario in 1866. He moved to Swift Current in 1883, one year after the railway line. Hill Gregory is likely Swift Current's first decorated veteran. From Swift Current's strategic importance as a supply route during the 1885 Resistance, to the bravery that young men here demonstrated during terrifying situations in overseas conflicts, it is very interesting when our story intersects with the stories being played out on the world stage.
